Our school’s pedagogy reflects the overarching principles and approach to learning outlined in the Sydney Catholic Schools’ Statement on Authentic Learning. By connecting to the real world of students’ lives, authentic learning enables students to become lifelong learners who contribute to society and the wider world as active and discerning citizens. Authentic learning is central to our work as Catholic educators because it promotes the continual growth and wellbeing of the whole person — spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically.

At Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary School (MIPS) we ensure that all learning is centred around:

M – make a difference
I – inspire others
P – problem solve successfully
S – succeed with perseverance

Staff plan collaboratively engage all students in learning growth. Students are able to articulate their learning and the where-to-next to ensure that their learning is personalised and active.

Wellbeing programs are explicit and aim to support our students to be resilient and emotionally intelligent. This is supported by our Fantastic Friday approach where we provide creative arts, languages and elective programs.
