Principal’s Message

Thank you for choosing to find out more about Mary Immaculate Primary School Bossley Park. As principal of the school, I am passionate about providing a holistic education for every student. Learning for me applies across all domains: academic, social, emotional, spiritual and physical.

Our teachers ensure they provide learning experiences that are accessible to every child and allow them to grow. Learning is contemporary, and engaging and taps into the intrinsic motivation to make students curious and want to find problems as well as solve them.

We’ve invested a lot of time in what we call our school-wide pedagogy (curriculum expertise combined with delivering effective learning experiences), which is absolutely the foundation of what we do. As a leading education researcher, Professor John Hattie would say, ‘collective teacher efficacy is strongly correlated with student achievement’.

As a Catholic educator, we provide opportunities for students to develop their faith. I strongly believe in working closely with our parish as we have a clear and firm commitment to exposing students to our Catholic identity.

I look forward to meeting you and your child soon.

Principal

History
Mary Immaculate was established in 1985 with 79 students and Mrs Dorothy Faulder as principal. In 2011 our new building, the Fr Peter Neville Hall, was officially blessed and opened as well as completed refurbishments to the library, staff study and computer room.

The school responded to the increasing population demands for Catholic education, we have refurbished many classrooms and the infant’s play area. Today, we remain an integral agent in fostering faith and Catholic values in our diverse community.

Mission
Living actively our Catholic faith we seek to:

  • Make a difference
  • Inspire others in all we do
  • Problem solve with creativity
  • Succeed with perseverance.

Just like the first disciples, we aim to be people filled with Faith, Hope, Courage and Generosity as we respond to God’s call.

Vision
The spirit and ideals of Mary Immaculate are expressed in our vision:

‘Striving to succeed as learners and innovators, inspired by the courage of Mary.’

Mary Immaculate Catholic Primary School Bossley Park enjoys an excellent relationship with the parish. Our parish priest, Father Sebastian, is a welcome presence in the school and regularly visits.
